British Championships – 30th – 31st July 2016
Majestic Gymnastics attended the prestigious British TeamGym Championship in July which decides the top teams in the country. The club was lucky enough to have qualified all three of our elite teams, Mini, Youth and Junior into the event. The competition spanned over 2 days where the medals would be won and lost over three different apparatus.

Majestics first team to shine was the Level 3 Youth. They performed an outstanding floor routine to achieve a personal best score of 16.183 showing difficult balance elements are acrobatic combinations. A few unfortunate errors on trampet left it all to do on the tumble track. The team stepped up to the plate and produced a solid performance which was well polished to finish in 8th position in Britain! This team has worked hard to increase their skill level across the board and show fantastic execution improvements.

The Junior team took to the stage next knowing the competition would be fierce. They had a brand new floor routine which was elegant yet powerful which the team performed excellently to achieve a huge 18.900! A personal best by several marks! With this boost the team shone on trampet and tumble to be award a fifth place, an agonising 0.016 of a point from fourth position and only 0.2 from third place! Although disappointed on the day, after reflection the team and coaches were immensely proud of the vast improvements made by this team during the 2016 season and the unbreakable team spirit they have.

On the final day of the competition, it was the turn of the youngest member of Majestics to take to the floor. They began their campaign on the trampet where unfortunately the nerves showed and a few errors were made. However, not down and out, the team pulled together and performed a show stopping floor routine to gain a personal best score of 16.300. This put them back within reach of a podium finish and it was all to play for. The team finished strong on tumble and topped the table on this apparatus with a huge 13.050. The score wasn't quite enough to secure a medal however they still finished and amazing 4th in Britain!

Overall, it was outstanding showing for a club who are beginning to establish themselves as a top competitor on the TeamGym scene. Congratulations to all the gymnasts who competed and especially the coaches who work tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare them for the competitions. Thank you to all the members of the club and parents who came to watch the gymnast compete. We can't wait until next year!

TeamGym European Championships – 13th-15th October 2016
Tia Collins has just arrived home an outstanding British performance at the European Championships in Slovenia. Tia has been at Majestics for a number of years now coached by Michelle George who leads the Majestics Senior and Junior Teams, supported by all other Team Coaches. The duo spent from March 2015 to August 2016 making huge improvements to Tia's skill repertoire on all pieces and focused on honing her natural dance ability to shine on the floor apparatus. This was all in preparation for the numerous selection events and trials Tia had to pass. The hard work paid off when she successfully secured her place in the Senior Women's Team and earnt her ticket to the European Championships to represent Great Britain!

British Gymnastics made history by sending six full teams within the junior and senior categories to include mixed gender, women's and men's. The senior women successfully negotiated the qualifying event where Tia showed an outstanding performance on the floor and tumble. Next up was finals day where the medals would be decided. Sweden, Iceland and Demark took the podium respectively showing an impressive level of gymnastics. Great Britain put in another show stopping performance to finish 6th in Europe!

Tia has shown dedication and determination throughout the long process and is now due some well-earned rest and recuperation before beginning her 2017 campaign with the Majestic Senior Women's Team. Congratulations Tia, we are all looking forward to the next one!

Further, thank you to everyone who sponsored Tia and helped her achieve this dream of attending the Championships. The club, Tia and her family are extremely grateful for all the support she received.

Hawth Open – 5th November 2016
52 gymnasts represented Majestic Gymnastics at the Hawth Open TeamGym Competition which signified the start of the competitive 2016-2017 season. Many gymnasts debuted new skills they had learnt during summer training and for a proportion of the gymnasts it was their first ever TeamGym competition. After a few nerves during warm up, gymnasts performed polished routines scoring excellent execution marks all round and represented the club in a professional manner. The hard work paid off with incredible results for Majestics, where 11 out of 13 teams achieved a podium finish with gymnasts taking the Level 6 Mini, Level 4 Mini and Level 3 Youth titles. Majestic Gymnasts also unveiled their new regional leotards produced by Little Stars at the event which the gymnasts looked fantastic in.

The event was especially nerve racking for a couple of our young coaches Hope Joy-Smith and Katie Iles who, for the first time, coached their own gymnasts at a competition. They achieved huge success with many podium finishes and impressive performances. Hope and Katie have been part of the Majestic Gymnastics Young Leader Programme for a number of years which works to develop aspiring coaches from the age of 14+. Under the guidance of the club and a mentor, Young Leaders are introduced to a variety of roles and opportunities available within British Gymnastics. The programme is designed to teach transferable skills such as basic coaching techniques, class management, teamwork, communication, and leadership. Hope and Katie showed excellent progression through this scheme and were invited to become part of the competition coaching team at Majestics in September 2016. We wish them all the best in their new role.

Congratulations to all participants and coaches, a brilliant start to the new season.

Majestics In-House Recreational Competition – 12th November 2016
Majestics In-House Recreational Competition – 12th November 2016 Majestic Gymnastics' recreational classes are currently thriving; where over 300 children per week are welcomed into the club to develop new gymnastics skills, improve their physical ability, and enjoy a social experience with peers. As a club we feel it is important to provide the children with an opportunity to display their gymnastics skills to their parents and receive recognition for their efforts.

Majestic Gymnastics holds an annual In-House Recreational Competition where children are invited to learn a floor routine and perform two vaults for a chance to stand on the podium and earn a medal. This year saw over 200 children from the age of four upwards demonstrate a fantastic level of gymnastics and self-confidence.

Each competition started off with a fun gymnastics warm-up to music before the gymnasts had a chance to practice their routines for the final time. Parents and Guardians where encouraged to cheer and clap along to create a lively atmosphere for the gymnasts. After the nerves had settled the competition began with gymnasts showing off different balances, rolls, flexibility and strength exercises during their routines.

After each competition our national team of girls performed a display with the aim of inspiring future gymnasts. Our elite girls train 12+ hours a week and currently hold 4th, 5th and 8th position in the country! Majestic Gymnastics is always on the lookout for new talent and has a wide range of TeamGym squads available, starting at 3 hours a week, for all ages and abilities. If you would like your child to trial for a session, please contact us to book a place:

At our club, we believe every child is 'Majestic' and therefore after our gold, silver and bronze positions were awarded, every child that competed received their own medal to take home.

Congratulations to all, we are extremely proud of you and all of your achievements!

The medal presentation included Majestics new podiums made by Infinity Customs who very kindly donated them for the competition. They are very professional and were brilliant for the children to stand on to receive their awards. Check out their page for more fantastic furniture and other creative works:

Further a huge thank you to Majestic Gymnastics fundraising committee who worked tirelessly through the day providing a cake sale, tea, coffee, raffles, bacon rolls and much more! Money raised from the competition will go back into the club so look out for some new equipment arriving in the New Year. We are always trying to think of new fundraising ideas, if you have a suggestions please let us know:

Cara-Rose Doane shone at her first competition showcasing an outstanding floor routine to gain top spot on this apparatus. Bryony Stone and Natalie Garner also produced steady and polished floor routines to equally secure 6th place. Vault was where Majestic gymnasts, Connie Bolt and Chloe Goldson showed their power and aptitude on the apparatus, both attaining 2nd place.

The U9 competition saw Majestic dominance with Isabella Hooper and Leila Rogers producing impressive performances to secure 1st and 2nd respectively. Grace Trowbridge proved that hard work pays off with a standout floor routine to secure 2nd position on this apparatus.
